When abuse charges are filed against a person of the Clergy... People seem to feel that they "Know" this person. They do "Know" this person in a job capacity. They have NO idea what that person does behind closed doors.
Please start to understand and open your eyes to the fact that YOUR CHILDREN need protection more than the pedophile... or even the ALLEGED pedophile. Take a step back and realize that only one in five people that are abused come forward.
That means that YOUR child COULD be one of four that is too terrified to come forward...especially due to the fact that Mommy and Daddy INSIST that the accused is innocent! OPEN YOUR EYES!!!
We the undersigned ask that the Roman Catholic Diocese be diligent in informing its parishioners of ANY claims filed against ANY clergy member before they are placed in any parish or new Diocese.
The names that appear on this petition will also be shared with members of NYS Senate who support The child victims Act.
For too long this issue has been swept under the carpet and is STILL not being addressed. The Roman Catholic Church just continues to find some other person... organization or manipulation to divert the attention away from what is actually going on.
(I.e.) “We now report all of these accusations to the proper authorities.” They say this so it looks like they are perusing due diligence! They have always done this! The problem is, more often than not….The Statute of limitations has already passed by the time the victim comes forward. In which case they have to do NOTHING! They “defrock” the abuser and he retires…
You teach... Thy shalt not lie...WHY do you continue to lie to your people. THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE!
