Charles Gunn is an extremely important character in the Buffyverse. He is one of the few non-powered human (most of the time) demon fighters in either Angel or Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
It seems that other important characters like Connor and Illyria will be appearing in Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 9. That's as it should be. However, it would be a great disappointment if Charles Gunn does not appear in Season 9. He is one of the most important people in Angel's life and he's a badass, too.
