Thank you to everyone who signed this petition. It is nice to know that there are people out there who have a heart.
The Hamilton/Wentworth cat shelter, is a high kill shelter. They are not open to the public for adoption, so the only way you can save a cat is through a rescue agency eg. Toronto Cat Rescue.
The agency can only take a certain amount of cats, which means that many innocent, healthy cats are left sitting on death row. There stay is not even a week, if they are lucky, before they are euthinized. Cats are tagged to be killed every Tuesday.
These helpless animals have no say in what happens to them. We have to put a stop to this cruelty.
I am urging people to please sign a petition to change the policies of the Hamilton/Wentworth shelter.
Firstly they must be open to the public for adoption.
They must give people like me who want to help and the rescue agency more time to find them homes, so we can help many more cats from being euthanized.
Euthanizing these cats should be the very, very last resort. These cats need, and deserve our help, without us they are completely helpless. No animal should have to end up in this dreadful place. No animal should have to die because someone decided to discard, neglect and abandon them.
