Thanks for bothering to sign the petition, unfortunately with a measly 20 odd signatures i won't be bothering to send it off to Roky's management. There was a small window in which to get i thought maybe 200 signs at least, alas i didn't happen. I guess most punters will get the gig they deserve, a shit one.

Background (Preamble):
I'm calling you all to arms! I know that most of you will be going to see Roky Erickson play in Australia/NZ in March. What you may not be aware of is that more than likely these shows will be abysmal. Why? (deep breath) Here's why. Roky is part managed by his son Jegar. Jegar has taken it upon himself to sack Roky's usual touring band for the tour (this is them http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtxrswI2Jsk), even after visas had been issued for the band . Why? The reason given to his usual band was that they needed to cut costs. This is nonsense. Why? Jegar Erickson had come up with the idea that he and his buddies could be the backing band, and be the support act also. Jegar has devised a band for the tour that hasn't even played together, let alone with Roky. Needless to say Roky isn't the sort of person who adopts well to changes, and gains strength from working with people whom he knows and trusts. If you want to see Roky Erickson play at his best who'd do well to sign the following petition, so that hopefully Jegar Erickson and Ten Pin management will correct the situation and send Roky with his usual touring group Down Under.

I have purchased a ticket to see Roky Erickson in Australia/New Zealand in March 2012. I have come to the understanding that Roky's usual touring band of the last few years has been taken off the tour, even after visas had been issued, to make way for Jegar Erickson and his friends to be the backing band and playing the support slot.
I also understand that neither Jegar or his friends have played with Roky before. I understand that the ideal behind it was to cut costs, how can costs be cut by sending five people instead of the original three?
I sign this petition in the hope that management of Mr Roky Erickson comes to its senses and replaces a band with no previous experience with his usual touring band. We love our music in Australia/New Zealand and want to see Roky at his finest. Please reinstate Roky's usual touring group for this tour.
