There is restraint of trade in the modelling business in the UK. Only certain models are allowed to get on the pages of the sun, star, zoo, nuts, loaded etc. Some of this is due to nepotism, favoritism etc. However, a great deal of it is due to the unethical and restrictive (possibly illegal) restriction of trade used by the media and agencies.

It is a fact that certain models get promoted more than others, furthermore it is a fact that unless a model is with sam bond or girl management they cannot get shoots with the sun newspaper. Surely this is an illegal restriction of trade and may be even be a cartel?? Furthermore, the government should investigate the business practices of these agencies as a few agencies having a stranglehold over such a lucrative business might go against anti competition laws.

Furthermore, the star newspaper ran polls asking readers to vote recently for the best model. They have not published the results of this poll, if they do not this is an illegal practice to take money off people for their votes under false pretences.

We the undersigned want the restriction of trade imposed on models by the agencies and media to cease immediately.
