Have you driven down the streets or had the occasion to go to the mall or local business parking lots? I have. Let me tell you what I see. I see young people hanging out with no where to go and God only knows whats on their mind. What are they dreaming up to entertain themselves?

In a world that seems threatening and devoid of promise for many of America's children, the Boys & Girls Club of Charlotte County, South County Unit provides a tangible measure of hope.

The City of Punta Gorda is a growing community with more and more families moving here every year. As a parent living in Punta Gorda I have been at a loss with after school care and activities for my children.

In the pre-teen years there is daycare, which is either not affordable or not stimulating to the youth.

As an alternative, the Boys & Girls Club offers young people what they need and want most: adults who respect and listen to them; a safe environment where they can have fun and be themselves; and enteresting, constructive activities that channel youthful energy into challenging pursuits. All boys & Girls Clubs programs are based on a youth development strategy tht builds self-confidence and self-esteem and foasters a sense of belonging, competence, usefulness and influence.

We offer daily access to a broad range of programs in five coe program areas: Charater and Leadership Development, Education and Career Development, Health and Life Skills, The Arts, Sports, Fitness and Recreation.
