Grindr was Founded back in 2009 as a Dating/Hookup app for Gay & Bi men. That was great, it was a pioneer during its time. However as the years have gone by , the company has been bought, sold, bought sold. Now its your cliche corporation with only one thing on its mind, Money. They don't care about individuals, individual rights, Listening to their users, or who they step on the way to acquire that all mighty dollar.
Examples:
1) Grindr is FULL of ads for games, etc. Every time you do anything on there you have a popup ad. It gets to the point where it is beyond intrusive.
2) Grindr is SPAM Central. Daily on there you get messages from fake accounts. Telling you to visit this site, or check out their cam, etc.
3) Grindr looks the other way on illegal activities if they feel the profile draws users in. The same with guys selling drugs on there, massages, etc. You can see them on there, and report them but nothing happens. But on the other hand....see next point
4) Grindr bans profiles without any just cause. You can report any profile and they will be banned, unless you are a profile that would draw others into grindr. Would Grindr listen to the users? No. You appeal the ban and all you get are form responses. Or saying, its in our TOS That we can remove an account at any time without reason. This has happened to me, I had a perfectly normal profile saying looking for friends, FWB, FB etc. Profile said I can't host etc. A guy hit me up and said hey but what position are you and can you host? I replied back "Read my profile" and he responded "BOT, REPORTED" Next thing I know banned from grindr. I am not alone, there are hundreds of stories the exact same as mine.
5) Grindr is facing numerous privacy issues from leaking users location, messages, and most recently HIV Status to various 3rd parties.
This has to Stop there are MUCH BETTER apps out there. Scruff and Jackd are amazing apps and they listen to their users. Funny no spam on there unlike grindr.

We, the Undersigned are officially boycotting Grindr until the below changes are made.
1) A 100% no sharing agreement of confidential information about its users to any 3rd party.
2) Tighter security measures to prevent spam profiles
3) A 50% Reduction in number of ads on the site
4) An Un-Ban of ALL profiles. An a formation of an appeals group of REAL PEOPLE that will review reports of users who have been banned, that will provide them with the exact reason why and give them the chance to rectify this.
5) A change in TOS that removes the ability to ban a profile at any time without any reason. For those profiles that truely meet illegal activities: Prostitution, Drugs, Advertising Robots, Massage Services, A full device Ban after a thorough review and proof of these activities.
Until these are met, we have canceled our premium memberships (if applicable) and have deleted our accounts. Have moved onto other platforms such as Scruff, Jackd, Surge, Etc and will continue to spread the word.
