MILLIONS CUT from building improvements to our local schools!

For what? So NORTHCOTE (one of our most affluent wards) can have its own EXCLUSIVE SECONDARY SCHOOL - THE BOLINGBROKE ACADEMY - free from local authority control? This school has been branded the bankers' free school and will be skewed towards the more affluent. The Council is paying £13m for the building and further millions will be needed to pay for conversion - what about existing schools?

It will give priority to children only from Honeywell, Belleville, Wix and High View primary schools and exclude Falconbrook Primary School, the most deprived in our Borough and nearer to the Bolingbroke Academy site than Wix.

MANY NORTHCOTE RESIDENTS DON’T SUPPORT LOCAL SCHOOLS*
- Only 27% of Northcote 11-15 year olds are at Wandsworth state schools
- Only 6 Northcote kids (out of 500) go to their nearest secondary school which is only a mile away!

EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE THE SAME CHOICE AS THE REST OF US - Don’t believe the hype – the vast majority of them would get into Chestnut Grove, Burntwood, Ernest Bevin etc on last year’s admissions distances!

PLEASE JOIN US IN TELLING THE COUNCIL – We want properly planned school places based on the needs of all of our children not just based on the self-interested shouts of the most affluent!

A GROUP OF PEOPLE IN NORTHCOTE ARE SHOUTING FOR WHAT THEY WANT, WE NEED TO SHOUT LOUDER!!

We, the undersigned, call on Wandsworth Borough Council to prevent the creation of the Bolingbroke Academy free school and instead carry out a proper assessment of school place needs to provide planned provision in local authority schools which allocate places fairly to applicants.
