Background (Preamble):
West Bengal in India is not the right name for this great state. Bengal was partitioned and West Bengal was left with India and East Bengal became a part of Pakistan. Following the massacre of Bengalees in East Bengal by Pakistani Army it became an independent country known as Bangladesh.

We the Bengali speaking people of India and all other Indians call on the Government of India to drop the word West from "West Bengal" and name the state as BENGAL.
There is no East Bengal at present and West Bengal needs to be called by its former glorious name of BENGAL which is more rational and appropriate for the present times.
