The State Government with the approval of the Latrobe Council is demolishing the Bell's Parade Railway Bridge without asking the community for their input. They both have had alternatives put forward to them without any fair or just investigation into the opportunities the bridge may offer to the economic and employment growth within the Latrobe Municipality and the region as a whole.

The Railway Bridge which is 125 years old is an integral part of the Latrobe Township's culture. The bridge has significant heritage values to the whole region as it was the connection for Launceston to the North West Coast, thus being the integral link to the growth of the region to where it is today.

We the undersigned, call on the State Government and the Premier to instantly put a stay in proceeding with the demolition of the Bell's Parade Railway Bridge.

To call with the Latrobe Council a public forum at Latrobe involving all stakeholders, that offers the community an opportunity to have their say in the future of the Railway Bridge.

To seriously investigate any alternatives that may be put forward that enhance the economic and employment opportunities within the Latrobe Municipality.
