Background Checks for Nursing and Retirement Home Employees

There is a history across the United States of nursing and retirement home abuse of elderly residents. Mostly due to the lack of background checks conducted and shared nationally. Physical, verbal and criminal abuse (i.e., burglary and identity theft) have been reported at numerous facilities nationally. Some of these include murder and manslaughter.

There must be a system put into place nationally and shared from state to state to control who has intimate access to the segment of our population (which may one day be us or our loved one) who cannot protect themselves or may not even be able to report the abuse.
