Petition Background (Preamble):
Whereas, believing that the nation's best interests, including those of its children, are served by a policy that maintains only one acceptable, optimal definition of a traditional family.
And whereas, we fully advocate traditional marriage while completely abhorring all other attempts to create similar venues (domestic partnerships, civil unions, etc.).

Hence, therefore:
be it resolved, that short of any appropriate ruling which restores the "common good" for traditional families, we hereby pledge ourselves to explicitly amend the federal constitution by whatever means necessary to defend traditional marriage.
