Canada boasts oil reserves in excess of those in Saudia Arabia. And they also want the US to allow the oil to be piped from Canada to Texas. This multi-billion dollar project is dangerous to our environment, drinking water supplies and an eyesore on our land.
What makes more sense is to invest the money in oil refining capacity in Michigan or other high unemployment state near the Canadian border.
Let the jobs and opportunities be placed where needed without the need to create this blight across our country.
Call on the president via the US State Department to consider denying the building of a pipeline through America and instead use the same funds to create permanent jobs and economic growth by constructing an oil refinement plant along the border with Canada.
Refined oil can then be trucked or shipped to consumers.
