Petition Background (Preamble):
The Whitley Place HOA Board has denied requests allowing residents to have any type of basketball goal (portable or in-ground).
Whitley Place is being promoted as a family neighborhood with an Elementary School to be opening within the neighborhood in August 2012. With childhood obesity on the rise, we feel the denial of basketball goals for the residents is not a good message to be sending to our children. As a community we should stand together and promote physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle.
We do feel basketball goals should be approved and meet certain criteria, but should not be denied simply because it’s a basketball goal.

We, the undersigned, wish to either have a committee created to review and update the bylaws to allow basketball goals or put the matter to vote by Whitley Place residents.
