We are voices representing the furry children. Yes and when we mean furry children, we mean dogs. We would like to bring to your attention that we are rising this petition for the sake of these dogs to get a good home.

HDB law has it that big dogs are not approved for staying with families living in HDB flats and even small HDB approved dogs have got the 1 per family limit. Why are these restrictions so mandatory? Aren't dogs like children too? When a couple are allowed to have many children as they can and that too is being aggressively encouraged by the Big-G and also funded for, why can't they have more dogs?

If safety is the concern here and there is this stigma that dogs are dangerous especially big ones, then why are there rising cases of physical abuses at home? Doesn't that mean humans are dangerous too? But we set no restrictions for them.

The American Heart Association has linked the ownership of pets, especially dogs, with a reduced risk for heart disease and greater longevity.

Studies have also found that:

1) Pet owners are less likely to suffer from depression than those without pets.
2) People with pets have lower blood pressure in stressful situations than those without pets.
3) Playing with a pet can elevate levels of serotonin and dopamine, which calm and relax.
4) Pet owners have lower triglyceride and cholesterol levels (indicators of heart disease) than those without pets.
5) Heart attack patients with pets survive longer than those without.
6) Pet owners over age 65 make 30 percent fewer visits to their doctors than those without pets.

Families who have just one child decide to have another because the first ones are getting lonely. Dogs get lonely too as age catches up. And when they get lonely, they tend to seek more attention from the owners, and when the owner is unable to provide the attention the dog seeks, it tends to be psychologically affected in time to come. Some dogs I know have died from a broken heart :( Yet, dog owners living in HDBs are unable to do anything because it only allows one dog per household. We want to be happy. In fact that is every human's being's aim..To be happy, and if that happiness involves miracles which walk in fours, why do we start having limitations?

As for big dogs, or rather the non approved dogs, the size really matters? Do u think a big dog will pose problems in anyway? If that is the case all big build humans should be tied on a leash and let go..

There are never bad dogs, only bad owners. Proper training and guidance for the dog will allow the dog to realise the wants of his or her family and that to, from him/her. Thousands of dogs are being bought/adopted every year and a lot of them abandon these dogs, pushing the blame on HDB's non consent rules.

How could anyone think of disowning their child? Why do we allow a government rule to stop us from having that humanity over dogs? If this rule is lifted, then more dogs will get a better home.

We the undersigned are raising this petition to declare our love and care for these four legged angels. HDB should allow big dogs to stay in HDB flats and more than two small dogs to stay in HDB flats.

We are endorsing this petition at our own will and are not antagonized to agree alongside with just anyone. And all signers may also leave a comment to add on to why YOU think HDB should allow at least 1 big dog or more than 1 small dog to stay with families in HDB flats.

Please join us to make a difference for those stray or kennel boarded furry babies who are holding so much of hope in their eyes and prayers in their heart that, they will get a loving home one day :)
