Air Conditioning for White Eagle Elementary School in District 204

It came to my attention that all the elementary schools in district 204 have no air conditioning, according to the assistant of the Superintendent, for district 204, all of the middle schools and high schools do, just not the elementary schools.

When calling the front office of White Eagle Elementary, I received chuckles instead of concern when asked why there was no AC for the students, when temps outside were well over 93 degrees.

When talking to others, I learned that there were some parents who thought about purchasing a window AC unit for one of the teachers and were declined by the principal at White Eagle Elementary. It seems that the concern for our children's health is not on the top of the list for the principal, but yet his office feels a lot cooler than the classrooms. Children with certain types of health issues, like asthma, are at a higher risk for having an asthma attack or getting heat stroke.

I am asking for all parents to sign this petition so that our children and future generations and teachers, do not have to endure this type of air quality again.

Instead of having our focus be on social events and helping others throughout the world, we need to focus on our children's safety first.
