This petition is to protect jewish children from the aguda israel organization that has an official position that a molested child can not go to the police to report the crime without getting permission from rabbis.
The official position is also to lobby against any bill that will allow an abused victim to sue the institution and rabbis that allowed the abuse.
They have enabled molesters to avoid prosecution specifically in new york by lobbying the DA hynes (see NYTimes) Aguda must not be allowed to claim that they represent jews and the torah
WE repectfully request that you ignore any request from Agudath Israel and any efforts of Agudath Israel to fund any initiative or program that they are involved with until they change the official policy that victims of molestation must first get permission from rabbis before going to the authorities.
To date they have enabled molesters to void justice and have harmed the efforts of victims to change laws to use the justice system to go after the rabbis and agencies that enabled this abuse. WE ask that you do not give this group Agudath israel any funding until they allow victims to go directly to police and they stop trying to use their political power to prevent prosecutions (see the forward and NY TIMES
in addition we would like an explanation by elected officials why Publicly Funded Borough Park Security Cameras Go To Org That Shields Alleged Pedophiles
State officials confirmed that Agudath Israel of America — a group that urges Jews not to report sex abuse claims to police before getting approval from a rabbi — would administer the program to install cameras focusing on sidewalks, schools, banks, and synagogues to help catch sex predators in the two neighborhoods
