Against MBC drama airing the dubbed version of BOF

The sub unit of the MBC group of entertaining broadcasters MBC drama is willing to air the Korean drama Boys Before Flowers (also known as Boys Over Flowers or BOF) soon after the Aid.

However the drama would not be considered as an original work for the following reasons:

The drama will be DUBBED to the golf dialect, the name of the drama is going to be " ايام الزهور " (flower days or days of flowers) which is obviously not the right translation and the names of the casts also changed to Arabic names.

We the undersigned, the ARAB fans of Korean drama call MBC to refrain from airing the drama dubbed for the simple reason that we consider this act as a deformation if not a disfigurement of a masterpiece in the Korean Entertainment that we have been fans of for many years.

We want to make clear that we have nothing against MBC group, MBC drama, the Golf dialect (or any other dialect) or the dubbers.

We believe that many of MBC viewers are neither familiar with the Korean drama, nor Korean language nor Korean culture, so airing BOF as a first attempt to introduce the Korean drama to its viewers as such would not be a good idea. Korean drama is not like any other drama, it represents the Korean culture, the hallyu wave, that would not be well represented without the language. So we would like for MBC to observe the originality of this work and air it as it is “an original version with Arabic Subtitles”.

We, the Arab fans of Korean drama, are launching a call to all the fans out there to refrain from watching the drama on MBC drama if aired dubbed. The subtitles have been on the net for a long time and people who want to watch it or Fans who want to re-watch it can find it at any time subbed online.

We are used to Korean drama's originality and we want it to stay this way.

We are the fans of Kdrama and we will protect it from any deformation.
