Consensus against extreme tattooing and piercing |

Background (Preamble):
This petition calls on those who tattoo their skin or plan on tattooing their skin in the future to refrain from doing so because their natural appearance is more beautiful and given from God.
Tattooing is form of body decoration that is permanent in nature and advertises rebellion against the natural order as the tattooed walk down the street and move through the public domain. Often these tattoos are offensive, obscene or disturbing in nature not only to adults but also to children.
Tattooing the body advertises tattooing to others who may at some point fall into this practice and who later on may regret these actions, having difficulty finding meaningful or adequate employment because of their appearance.
Although it's understood that their are other ways that human beings decorate their bodies such as clothing and jewelry these are not permanent and are socially acceptable when done with good taste and moderation.
Clothing also is a way to practice modesty by covering the body.
Their is also a substantial risk of contracting HIV/AIDS and hepatitis from tattooing with dirty/contaminated needles and contaminated ink wells which have been splattered with blood and are sometimes re-used.
These two diseases have no cure and are or can be fatal.
Hepatitis destroys the liver and can kill.
Right now 2 billion out of 6.5 billion human beings presently living are infected with hepatitis.
Tattooing is considered a significant source of Hepatitis and HIV infection.
HIV/AIDS and hepatitis can have very few symtoms at first and can be transmitted sexually to your sexual partner after you have been infected.....and they can infect 3 more people.....and those three can infect 3 more people and on and on for years.....and long after your dead this infection process can go on.....there is a potential there for much death and sickness just because you or someone wanted to have a "cool" tattoo.

Petition:
We the undersigned will refrain from tattooing our skin in the future and even if we decide to tattoo we will consider public sensibilities when we do so and refrain from excessive, obscene, extreme or evil looking tattooing that may disturb public sensibilities and/or scare/intimidate women and children.
We will also warn others of the health risks involved in tatooing and also piercing the skin (hepatitis/HIV.)
We the undersigned also will refrain from and/or make an effort to limit piercings of the skin and/or extreme piercing jewelry which may offend public sensibilities and diminish the natural God given beauty of the skin and it's natural appearance.
We will make an effort to practice moderation and respect for others concerning these matters.
This petition also calls on increased public education and guidance on these issues through our local community leaders, churches, educators, mosques and synagogues to inform our young people and the public in general towards making wise and intelligent decisions concerning these matters.
