ACS Smokers request that the non-smoking ban not go into affect on 1/1/09

We, the undersigned, call on ACS to eliminate the Non-smoking ban due to go into eff on 1/1/2009.

We are requesting that the smoking ban not go into effect. We as smokers have not complained to ACS about having to withstand the freezing conditions of winter nor have we made a complaint on the in humane conditions of having to bare the blistering heat of the summer while on our 15 minute break on the side of the building smoking a cigarette. We are not in the public view, nor can any clients see us unless they are in this area also smoking a cigarette.

Then to say no smoking on the property not even in our own cars (which I personally paid $ 35,000.00 for with out the help of ACS) is preposterous.

We can understand changes being made, but we ask that the smoking ban be tweaked to accommodate all of ACS employees. We are not monsters or diseased because we smoke. We should be able to keep our smoking area.

We do not discriminate against non-smokers for making smokers tolerate in humane conditions to smoke a cigarette or not allow us to smoke OUTSIDE for gods sake, and we expect the same respect and demand the same respect.
