As it says on the tin, my petition is to stop the over use of fireworks. Even as early as the 5th of October the bangs have already begun. There is concern that untrained families are using them and they actually cause accidents on the roads, via blindeds or distractions.
Furthermore, young children who are going to school the next day can't settle. New mums are struggling to put their children to sleep because of the noise and fireworks also upset the neighbours and their pets. So why? Thre should be limits to specific days such as the 5th of November when the community can plan celebrations.
I'm sure many dog/cat owners will agree.
Stop the overuse of fireworks.
Let's prevent injuries and mishaps on our roads and stop traumatizing the animal residents.
Let's make one day a blast. Not several weeks!
