I am starting this petition because I think as people in America become older and there are an increasing amount of disabled the subway system has not made any adjustments for this change.
There are very few escalators or elevators and it is extremely difficult to get around if you are disabled or elderly. Even trains that say they are accessible aren't really because to get to the elevator is impossible most of the time.
We, the undersigned, are requesting that the New York City Transit Authority make provisions for the disabled and elderly to easily get around the subway systems.
We would like the MTA to install more elevators and escalators so that travel for the disabled and elderly is attainable.
