1. Understanding a need for fair justice and punishment under the law.

2. The Megan's Law Registry creates increased recidivism by forcing people to become homeless if said individual lives near a school or a daycare center.

3. Creation of the law violates the First, Third, Fourth, Eighth, Ninth, Fifth and Fourteenth Amendment in the United States Constitution.

4.The law is also extremely expensive- costing billions of dollars of tax payers money.

5. Anyone who is on registry can be targeted by vigilantes-including there loved ones as well.

6. The Registry is retroactive- it punishes people that have committed the crime before Megan's Law was passed in 1996.

7. Another indication that Megan's Law needs to be abolished is the Adam Walsh Act. A law that was passed in 2006.

8. The law creates difficulty for sex-offenders by residency restriction.

9. The law also stigmatizes individuals, making it difficult to secure employment and housing.

10. Denial of freedom of association.

We, the undersigned, call on the President of the United States to eliminate the law that has destroyed so many lives.
