We must raise the share of renewable energy from 7% to 25% in the overall energy production by 2020. This is a necessary contribution in combating climate change and better controlling our energy dependence.
Sources of renewable energy would include electricity from wind, hydraulic, solar, geothermal, and biomass energies. This would also create jobs, develop our economy, make our enviroment healthier, and result in consumer savings on energy.
We, the undersigned, call on our federal government to demand accountability from the nation's utility companies by requiring them to acquire 25% of their energy from renewable sources by 2020.
