News and current affairs media are supposed to be informative to the people of our nation. It is a huge responsibility and all issues big or small should have comprehensive coverage in news and current affairs media.
Far too often it is found that not enough or even misleading information is issued in small paragraphs in print media or very brief television and radio broadcasts barely cover the topics being presentd sufficiently.
We need better, more comprehencive information presented in our media.
I hereby call upon the Australian Communications & Media Authority and The Hon. Helen Coonan, Minister for Communications, to recommend and assist in the creation of television and radio news services to be broadcast twenty four hours a day with issues being fully represented with minimal time limits and editing out of content.
I call for full reporting of major news issues to ensure that Australian citizens can make the choices to be fully aware of news events that may concern them anywhere in the country.
I also call for the creation of dedicated news print media to focus on major issues such as planning and government actions, that give full details of each topic or issue. We Australians need to be informed.
