I have started this petition in light of my experience when I was told I have a Excessive Income due to the Medicaid Income Levels and being on Disabilty my Income was set by the Social Security Administration.
The local Dept of Social services told me that my income is at a level that is low and that I will be put on Medicaid and lose my Family Health Coverage because I get $181.00 over the limit for Family Health Plus ($903.00) and is over the Medicaid Income level of ($767.00) and they say my income is over Medicaid Income standards by ($297.00) .
So they say to send the Excess Income to the Dept of Social Services and live on $788.00 for the month?? I feel the Medicaid Income levels are outdated and should be updated .
I am feel that the current Medicaid specifications set at the income levels at the time of the being implemented, were set at the income levels of the working at that time and for the Social Security Division to set as monthly income to live on to pay living expenses and medical bills as they occur and to live with everyday expenses at 2011 and further level of expenses.
I petition that the government should look at the Medicaid Specifications and update the income levels to match the current living expenses the present Senior Citizen is facing compared to what was when it was setup at the income and living expenses at that time. I hereby with the following signatures have petition the State of New York and the United States Security Dept to update the Income levels to the current living costs to prevent the State Depts of saying you are receiving to much you have send us $$$ because we consider it Excessive Income and the tax dollars you paid since you began working at a early age of 16 or earlier to your retirement is not enough for Medicaid protection and you have to send back part of your Social Security Benefits for the Government to cover medical expenses not that you are retired or on Disabilty.
