Maintaining and modifying the provisions of the Electricity Gazette will enable consumers to save on electricity bills using technology now available.
The Electricity Gazette states in effect that consumers using tariff 33 must have appliances 'hard-wired' to the consumer switchboard.
It also states that such appliances may not be connected to tariff 11 when tariff 33 is disconnected from the supply.
This is an added imposition on the consumer as tariff 33, which is approximately 50% of the normal tariff, is available for 18 hours per day at the retailers discretion.
There is no logical reason that a change back to the full tariff should be disallowed.

We the undersigned, call on the QLD Government to ensure that the present electricity tariff structure is maintained and that the rules regarding tariff 33 are changed in order that consumers may make full use of this tariff without prejudicing the right to change to tariff 11 when 33 is not available.
