Petition Background (Preamble):
Australia is currently without an R18+ video game rating for any gaming software being sold in this country. This reduces the choices, as adults, as to what we wish to watch and as such are denied that freedom of choice because the government of Australia does not wish to catch up with the rest of the world.
By implementing an R18+ rating for videogames, it will also protect minors who as of right now are exposed to certain games which unexplainably get approved which showcases violence, drug use, sexual imagery and criminal activity. These games would best suited to the adult audience as, like we do with our film industry, have that choice on what content we wish to watch.

By signing this petition, you will be putting forward your voice to show Australia that you want an R18+ rating in place for videogames and to also allow the sale of the unedited and full retail version of Mortal Kombat by Warner Bros. and Netherrealm Studios.
