Status: Our application has been rejected by our Wholesale Supplier, Telstra, Optus, TPG. etc
The reason for putting our application for rejection is: Please note our ISP(s) have received advice that ADSL2 is not supported on our current telephone line. This may be due to; The combined effects of distance, mixt use of firbre optic / copper line and their quality and path have been deemed according to our suppliers simply incapable of effectively providing ADSL2 speed.
This is also due to our telephone line actually being connected to a sub-exchange en-route to the main exchange. We can call our local line rental provider to confirm if we are connected to a sub-exchange or RIM however this is ture for almost all houses in Forest Lake as the medium used between the sub-exchange and main exchange are usually fibre optic (and hence not suitable for ADSL2).

We all residents of Forest Lake, QLD detest that Forest Lake and surrounding suburbs like springfield, heathwood and Richlands do not have a decent internet access. It's not like we're in the middle of nowhere – Forest Lake is Brisbane’s a capital city.
It is a new suburb - about 20 years old and still no ADSL2 Internet. We protest against this injustice and demand that our infrastructure be upgraded to ADSL2 now and start the "National Broadband" scheme first in Forest Lake when available.
