Brent Council have recently announced that they are planning on closing Kilburn's Charteris Sports Centre from April 1st, 2011.
This subsidised health facility, which offers classes in aikido and yoga, among other activities, is a valuable community resource, which the council are planning on selling off to a private housing developer.

We, the undersigned, call on Brent Council to vote no to the idea of closing Charteris Sports Centre at the upcoming meeting on February 15th.
We believe that by working closely with local residents, the organisation can be made profitable, and that any imminent decisions should not be taken without listening to the groundswell of support we represent.
