Aasai Bibi Noreen is a Christian from Pakistan who has been sentenced to death for alleged blasphemy. Her accusers refuse to say what she's meant to have said, as they claim that would be blasphemy too. A government minister who defended her, Salman Taseer, was assassinated. Five hundred lawyers offered to represent his killer in court. Not one will represent Taseer's widow.

If Aasai is left in Pakistan she will probably be killed by fanatics too. So please sign this petition to ask the British government to offer her, her defenders and other victims of Pakistan's blasphemy laws asylum here.

We the undersigned call on the British government to offer refugee status in the UK to Aasai Bibi Noreen, her defenders and other victims of Pakistan's unjust blasphemy laws which allow people to be sentenced to death without even knowing what they are alleged to have said to break the law.

Even if death sentences like Aasai's are revoked she and others are likely to be killed by fanatics the way Salman Taseer was when he defended her. Their only chance is to be granted refugee status in a mostly non-Muslim country.
