At the moment our local pub The Turf Tavern is privately owned. It has been bought, subject to planning permission, to The Joseph Rowntree Trust who wish to demolish it and build 12 houses.
The Turf is a thriving, profitable business which has 2 junior football teams, 2 netball teams, and darts, dominos and pool teams. It is a true family pub and many functions including christenings, wedding receptions and birthday parties are held there.
It is truly the hub of the community.
We, the undersigned, object to the closure of The Turf Tavern.
