Durham County Council have issued notice that they plan to permanently close the ford at Stanhope, County Durham.
Stanhope Ford is a unique and historic river crossing. It is not only a part of Weardale's heritage and a vital piece of infrastructure but also a key tourist attraction in an area greatly dependent on tourism.
Please show your support for the people of Weardale and sign our petition.
