During the Construction of the Duval Mine Hwy interchange a categorical exclusion was used insleaded of Environmental Assessment that requires NEPA compliance evaluation of I-19 vehicular traffic sound levels to be assessed.
The purpose of this petition is to complete a noise assessment that will likely show unhealth ambient noise levels above the standards set by the US Dept of Transportattion Federal Highway Administration FHWA noise standards.
With these noise levels assessed the community effected by this noise can apply for funding to abate the I-19 traffic noise (e.g., earth berms, vegetation, 20' sound barrier wall etc). By signing this Petition you endorse a noise assessment to determine sound levels and if above the FHWA noise standard you endorse applications to fund for the abatement of this noise.
