SAVE OUR BRICK BARN
-Now Officially listed on CT State Register of Historic Places!

Many concerned New Canaan residents and historic preservationists are wishing to rally residents to save the Brick Barn. This structure, located on Richmond Hill Road just East of the exit road from Mead Memorial Park, is an old brick building with cultural and historical value to our charming town.

New Canaan residents have expressed an interest in historic preservation and revitalizing the structure into a usable venue for the benefit of all Town residents and visitors to Mead Memorial Park. Such proposals include a Hall honoring the VFW, a Cafe and Boathouse for renting rowboats and canoes for quiet enjoyment on the pond, and an Internet Cafe.

The estimated cost to demolish this 110 year old, two story red brick building would be in excess of approximately $40,000 of taxpayer money. New Canaan has lost many irreplaceable structures. Let's not pay to lose another one.

Please join us to save this unique and valuable piece of New Canaan's heritage.

Thank you.

We, the undersigned, call on the Town Officials of New Canaan, CT to delay demolition of the "Brick Barn" at 64 Richmond Hill Rd and rehabilitate this historically significant building, now officially recognized and listed on the "CT State Register of Historic Places" for the benefit of preserving the cultural aspects of this building and providing a new function for the benefit of New Canaan residents and visitors to Mead Memorial Park.
