Petition Background (Preamble):

This is an important Grade 2 listed building and it bears the names of 574 men who were killed in the Great War.

These soldiers and sailors came from all types of backgrounds and all had a connection with Stockwell, although many came originally from outside the area. The names are now eroding and need attention.

To help us save the precious memory of these men who gave the ultimate sacrifice, please sign my Petition to Lambeth Council to provide a plan for the restoration and maintenance of this memorial.

Petition:

We, the undersigned, are concerned about the state and deterioration of the above war memorial and urge Lambeth Council to take action in restoring the Memorial.
