Saturday, June 12, 2010 the turntable gate was locked, thereby denying access to coolidge high school track and field. Ward 4 residents and other users are seeking access to coolidge high school track and field on saturdays and sundays.
Even though the school year has ended the community still needs use of the track and field on saturdays and sundays. Ward 4 has a very large senior citizen population who use the facility on a daily basis. I and several others who have been affected by the economy can not afford a gym membership fee or even a discounted recreation center fee.
Reports show that there is a major health crisis in America because people are not getting enough exercise. People are also working 12 hour days and the only time they have available to exercise are weekends.
We, the undersigned, call on the principal of coolidge high school to allow public use of the track and field on the weekends.
