No To Blair as President of the European Council

Now that the Irish have voted "Yes" to the Lisbon Treaty in what looks like a convincing vote attention once more turns to the post of President of the European Council and unfortunately Tony Blair seems to be a front runner.

I say unfortunately as not only have we not had a referendum despite Blair saying in the Labour election manifesto in 2005 "We will put it [the constitution] to the British people in a referendum and campaign wholeheartedly for a Yes vote."

But also that this is a man who has not yet properly apologised for taking us into an illegal war based on a ‘pack of lies’ and who is embroiled in the Serious Fraud Office's investigation into alleged bribery surrounding BAE Systems' contracts with Saudi Arabia.

I actually don’t think Blair is a ‘bad’ man I think that his arrogance makes him unsuitable for public office.
