Some of you already know the situation here with my husband of only 6 months. For those of you who don't know, in 2002 when Alex was 18 he was at an 18 and up event. He met a girl and they started seeing each other. Well a little while later, he found out she was only 15 and had snuck into the event wth a fake ID. At 14 she had hooked up with a 37 year old and nothing was done. My husand, however, was arrested and charged with felony statutory rape. GA legislation states that if the offender is no more than 18 and no more than three years older than the victim then they are to be charged with a misdemeanor and only if the prosecution can show just cause. Well, the girl and her parents were not in court on that day, the lawyer and judge should have known that it was against GA state law to convict him with a felony, and the state was the prosecution cause the parents were going to drop the case.

He was sentenced to time in a diversion center and given 10 years probation. He served his 2 years at the center and has been on probation ever since. I met him in Nov. last year and we married in Feb. of this year. I have seen all the documents and statements, and everything he told me was true. We were living in Augusta, GA with his grandmother and in March, his uncle moved in too. He was bringing drugs and pornography into the house and was verbally abusive to my children. I couldn't take it anymore, so we moved to SC with his brother and sis in law. Alex kept up legal residence at his grandmother's house since he was still on probation. My car was repossessed shortly thereafter and he had no way to see his probation officer. He had called several times to tell her what was going on and went in there for his visit in April and was told that he was to quit his job, which is a violation of his probation. He was made to see another officer since his was on vacation. After that last visit he couldn't get a ride to see his PO and kept calling, as was I, to let her know the situation. She refused to call anyone and claimed she never got the messages we left. Yeahhhhh righhhhtttttt.

He registered as a sex offender in April like he was told to do, even though according to law he wasn't' supposed to. Now he has been arrested and held in Richmond County jail, Augusta, GA for failure to register and felony probation violation. I have the registration paperwork and gave a copy to his attorney. The phone system for the jail blocked my number so he can't call me after the operator yelled at me and hung up on me when I asked her to please make sure my line would work when I forwarded the calls to my cell . This was the day I was leaving to bury my mother and this heartless person blocked my husband from calling his own wife! They are now refusing to take the block off the phone and refusing to send out some of his letters. He has written to our local newspaper about this and they would not mail the letter at all. I am not getting all my letters from him either and he is not getting all his from me.

They are reading the mail and choosing what to give and what not to give. I have tried to contact all sorts of state agencies and representatives, and no one will return my calls or emails. I need your help. Below you will find a petition. My goal is 1,000 signatures.

Please, help me right the wrong done to my husband. Please sign the petition and forward to whoever you can. Thank you so much!
