Homework during the week (ok) but not during the weekend

Homework during the week is necessary, and students get that. In order to learn, it is necessary to keep learning during the week. After working hard all week, we have weekENDs. A weekend is supposed to be the time that you can spend the time that you have with your family and friends.

Weekends are supposed to be the time where students can rest from working hard all week. Why do they call it a weekEND if they try and continue what we did that same week? That makes no sense. We shouldn't be spending our weekends doing MORE homework.

Most students start school around 7:50 am. and end around 3 pm. Don't forget that a large amount of students have sports and other activities that consume a considerable amount of time out of their day. If you get out at three in the afternoon and spend about 3 hours or more on h/w, how much time do you have to spend with your family? I think I read a similar reason in some magazine some while ago.

Our weekend is filled with h/w, and it is not fair. Some will say suck it up, everyone has to do it, and that is true but just think, there is no time to spend with your parents and your siblings, etc if your spending it on h/w all the time.
