I want to bring to your attention regarding an application received by development control, for an erection of two flats on the plot adjacent to, number 15 Bronte Close, (the application number 2009/62/92108/E1.

This is a concerning matter for us residents within Bronte Close, especially for numbers 14, 16, 18, 20 and 13a, has the Council not noticed how much we are suffering regarding parking etc. This application for the flats is an over-development of the plot, excessive density out of character, lack of parking. Already parking problems in the area –this will exacerbate the situation, also a loss of community spirit.

Loss of sunlight and daylight to neighbouring properties, overlooking and loss of privacy lack of amenity space, which will set precedent for further conversions or flats in the area. Noise issues, having bedrooms next to living areas, unacceptable precedent mismatch of living and bedroom areas –noise issues. Aggravation of existing lack of parking and amenity space problems in the area, am sure parking – need 1.5 spaces per 1 bed unit, also loss of light to numbers 13a, 13, 14, 16 18 and 20. Loss of privacy to the neighbouring houses

As mentioned we have no car parking the area is saturated with and cannot accommodate more vehicles. Bronte Close is the only street which has no parking permits due to inadequate of parking provision leading to an increase in demand for on-street parking within our cul de sac.

This is an overdevelopment leading to a poor standard of usable amenity area, which already shows lack of public open space. As you are aware Cllr O’Neill if planning application is approved the one on-site parking space is insufficient. If approved the erection would result in an additional two to four vehicles. We have little available parking. Bronte Close is too narrow to safely manoeuvre a vehicle into an on-site parking space. The rear of the property is not therefore suitable to be used for such a purpose. Furthermore, if there was an emergency on Bronte Close our road should be kept clear for emergency vehicles.

The resulting flats are too small to sell, the location of the parking space could cause damage to an underground sewerage pipe highway safety problems, S bend is dangerous with poor visibility and not designed to handle large volumes of traffic, poor sight of vision from entrance, increased safety problems for children & elderly people increased congestion the site is too small for development.

It will Increase in traffic and noise and pollution and as mentioned we lose our privacy. As residents we are finding problems turning, reversing our cars and to give permission for such a development is going to cause an impact in injuring children as they there is playing space and children often play on the road. Much to our annoyance many drivers who are not familiar with our road drive at ridiculous speeds and often cars that are left by visitors or workers at the hospital ends up in arguments. If such this application is granted approval I am sure it will cause much hostility between neighbours and other visitors and workers.

As mentioned we already have problems and believe me when our own family visitors visit the road becomes a hazardous situation. As our local councillors I wish that you may have an input in this application,
