Recently items have been reported missing from the storage bins provided in the basement storage rooms beneath 8110-8114 Colony Point Road. In one case, the hinges of a bin were unscrewed and a bicycle was removed and pawned. The only suspect in this case is a former resident who still has a key to the laundry room. This person faces criminal misdemeanor charges for petty larceny.
The Cardinal Forest Condominum Owners Manuel states that use of the basement storage facilities are at the owners risk. There are several factors that can help reduce the risk of theft from the storage bins:
(1) Change the locks and provide new keys to residents only
(2) Use keys that cannot be copied
(3) Ensure working laundry room doors
We, the residents of 8110-8114 Colony Point Road, call on the Cardinal Forest Condominium Association to rekey the laundry room facilities and to provide residents only with un-duplicatable keys.
