My name is Jenny Newman and our story was recently featured and updated on Australian Story. www.abc.net.au/austory or Google Australian Story or Jenny Newman.
The show is available to watch live on the ABC site. I am appealing to you for help, I need the Government to step up and ensure that Child Protection has more power, more resources and is more accountable. They are not listening at this stage.
Child Protection let us down once and my two Grandchildren were continually abused and neglected, they lived in misery then she(their mother) stole them both and disappeared to Queensland Haliday moved in with another man and they proceeded to torture them for eight weeks that we know of and a beautiful little baby was murdered.
To date Rebecca Mae Haliday is still not admitting to what she did and believes in her words that she just had a bad experience. This woman has done nothing to prove that she is ready or able to parent another child. This is child number four, her first baby before Chris has not been located.
I am sick with worry about this poor little person who has yet to be born, she will disappear and the baby will be at risk. We gave her an enormous amount of support and even with that she failed to be able to parent she cannot be allowed to care for this baby on her own she has to be assessed and she has to be monitored.
I need to apply pressure to the Government and Child Protection and as one person I cannot do that I need your voices. Please watch the story and if you agree please help me to protect this little Bub.

This is a letter to the Australian Government:
Rebecca Mae Haliday was charged with Manslaughter and received six years jail, her parole orders dictated that if she became pregnant she needed to notify Child Protection immediately, she didn't do that. She is due to give birth in September she doesn't know who the father is she says he is a drug addict, she has no support and she has done nothing to ensure that she can this time be a fit and responsible parent. I fear for the life of this little baby.
We are appealing to the Government to make a difference in this case, this little baby's life is in your hands, we need you to place a protective order over the baby now, we need you to ensure that this baby is safe and cared for now and when it is born.
Please do not let this little baby suffer at the hands of Rebecca Haliday she has not proven herself to be a fit Mother.
