This petition is set up on the behalf of Sukhvinder Singh Mann, Harjot Singh Cheema and, Zafar Ahmed Choudhary, the three young men that have been sentenced to serve Sukhvinder Singh Mann three and half years and the other two three years in prison at the age of nineteen, for an incident involving them and a man named Michael McPherson that took place on December 8 last year, in Edwards nightclub in Uxbridge Road, Ealing.

In my opinion i think its unfair how these boys who had no pervious convictions and have a really promising future werent given lesser sentence to what they are serving now, there was more to what had happened that night, some evidence that could off shown the whole story in to how everything took place weren’t mentioned in court such as , why was this man attacked, did he say or do anything to anger these young men were his actions wrong, are they another CCTV videos to be shown such as the ones inside the club which resulted into these boys being convicted and throwing away there university lives away and also after researching the reputation of the solicitors that was representing them clearly states they had no knowledge in what they were doing, from the outside it just seems like they were trying to make easy money behind these boys back, it didn’t seem like they had made any effort into proving their side of their story, which also indicates that these boys themselves have no knowledge about such situations and had an innocent mind and believed they were being directed into the right directions.

The Judge should have taken into account of the young men university placements. As stated in particular, Harjot Cheema had just completed his first year of an engineering degree at Kings College, London, and as expressed in the article published by Ealing Times, he was seen to be"very bright" with a "glittering future before him", then maybe Judge Jonathan should have considered community service at the most and Sukhvinder Mann who with grades such as AAB was promised a place in one of London’s Universities to take a degree in Financial Management.

They are not denying what they have done and they have not made excuses for what they have done either. Despite the CCTV video shown this was a harsh sentencing, were not agreeing with what they have done but this was something that aren’t in their nature and many people will agree but they should of received a reasonable punishment considering they have never done anything like this in their lives. If you compare this case to Joey Barton, GBH case, where he received 6 months, it makes you think over and over again and come to a conclusion, that the only reason Barton received such a low sentence was because he's a footballer, and he's got a 'productive future'.

We question, do these young men not have a productive future. Joey Barton, was also seen on CCTV where he was punching his victim 20 times, was given 6 months sentence and only served 11 weeks, what is the difference between a footballer and University and College undergraduate's, and why should a footballer receive less of a sentence.

Furthermore what about junkies, they choose to put that rubbish in there body but soon as there in the wrong hands of the law they (not all) ask for rehab and are most likely to get it, so they are being helped with there problem, these three men were severely drunk why not help them to stay of drink and send them to anger management or at least put them under probation so they are able to complete their education and make something out of themselves.
These young men had future plans and where supporting their families income wise, considering the fact they have no pervious convictions should have been taken under account, obliviously they got themselves into a bad situation for being under the influence of alcohol. The ‘’Victim’’ himself was under the influence of alcohol which shows that none of them were in their right sense of mind when the whole issue started.

We ask you to help us get these young men lives back on track or at least lower their sentence, so they are able to catch up with their fellow classmates and graduate and make something out of themselves, having to speak to these boys you will straight away see that they have learnt there mistake and all they want is to be close to there family and friends, they have also sent out letter each to the victim Michael McPherson expressing their sorrow and shame.

Considering the fact that there are other cases similar and worse then this, these boys get years in prison and the defendents for other cases been given a second chance or even let out free.
