Democracy Surely! Don't Impose an unelected, illegal and unpopular government on the people
- Target:
- Illegal, tribalistic, corrupt, arrogant and unpopular KIBAKI Government
- Region:
- Kenya
The Kenyan elections have turned out to be quite a fiasco and a tragic one at that. The problems started when it looked as though the opposition leader would win, then that win dissipated.
In the At noon of 29th December 2007, the electoral commission gave the challenger, Raila Odinga, a four per cent lead over the incumbent, Mwai Kibaki, after results from three-quarters of the 210 constituencies.
But almost 48 hours after polls had closed, hold-ups to the remaining 51 counts drew sharp criticism.
The election commission acknowledged that there were irregularities but said that it was not their job to address them. The opposition, said the chairman, Samuel Kivuitu, “can go New York Times to the courts.”
Electoral Commission of Kenya (ECK) officials has since told the world that the elections were FLAWED and their chairman, who have since gone into silence, too has confirmed to the world that he has no idea who worn the election (sic). Then if so. why not do the retallying or repeat the presidential elections.
The opposition (who in the real sense are the winners of the elections) have indicated that it would not contest the results in Kenyan courts, which are notoriously slow and corrupt. The court are also presided over by the chief justice, who himself swore in the rigged "president" just after the Kenyan Flags were already lowered. So how do you take the a goat to coat presided over by the Hyenas and company? The Kibaki senario is like - A THIEF TAKING YOUR COW (WHICH IS YOUR LIVELIHOOD) AWAY FROM YOU IN DAYLIGHT, BY FORCE; HE GOES MILKING IT, AND TELLS YOU THAT, "YOU KNOW WE'VE BEEN GOOD NEIGHBOURS FOR ALONG TIME AND SHOULD FORGET THIS ISSUE (THEFT) AND RECONCILE", WHILE HE HAS NOT YET GIVEN YOU BACK YOUR COW. This is impossible in any humanity.
As it is reported today, the violence in Kenya between supporters and opponents of the president have become fierce and is bound to continue because of their arrogance and demoralising democratic principles of the voters right and citizenry. There will be no peace without (justice) Raila at his RIGHTFUL place: state house.
Restore democracy to Kenyans.
If I may quote a reporter, Mr. Geffrey Gentleman publication on 31st December 2007, "Western observers said Kenya’s election commission ignored undeniable evidence of vote rigging to keep the government in power.
Now, one of the most developed, stable nations in Africa, which has a powerhouse economy and a billion-dollar-a-year tourism industry, has plunged into intense uncertainty, losing its sheen as an exemplary democracy and quickly descending into tribal bloodletting"
I further quote, “It’s a sad day for Kenya,” said Michael E. Ranneberger, the American ambassador to Kenya. “My biggest worry now is violence, which, let’s be honest, will be along tribal lines.”
It is in this light that I call upon all Kenyans wherever they are to voice their protest.
Kibaki must step down and allow real democracy.
