Southview Sorting Ltd. has applied to have a forty year gravel mining operation in the Larson's Bench area of the sensitive Chilliwack River Valley watershed. The joint Aggregate Pilot Project has designated the area as a "red zone", meaning unsuitable for aggregate removal except for emergency purposes.

A large gravel pit in this area is likely to cause significant impacts on the social, environmental, and financial well-being of residents, tourists, and businesses in the area.

We, the undersigned, call on the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources (and other government agencies) to deny Southview Sorting's Ltd. gravel mine proposal in the Chilliwack River Valley, and to honour the Aggregate Pilot Project.
