This January, I purchased a KoAloha Pineapple Sunday. Because I was a little short on cash, my wonderful spouse decided to lend me the money to complete the purchase.

Now, though, Meli the ukulele is currently being held ransom against her will. I do not get to have physical possession of the ukulele until I meet one of two conditions. I must either save/raise the rest of the money to pay off my loan to my spouse, or I must meet the other condition: I must gather 100 signatures to this online petition to free Meli.

While my "better half" was kind to lend the money, now that my spouse is acting as a warden, and has hidden the ukulele, this constitutes an act of cruel and unusual punishment, as never before has there been a ukulele capable of such magic.

When her strings are strummed she sounds like a chorus of angels singing. When they are plucked the tone is the sound of the islands themselves, capable of transporting the listener to a land of beauty and magic.

Her voice is surpassed only by her great beauty. The golden blonde koa wood is complete with caramel swirls and highlighted by abalone accents.

Her name, Meli, means "honey" in Hawaiian. This is due to her beautiful gold color, and the sweet tone of her voice. This ukulele, hand crafted by Papa KoAloha is a thing of wonder and sublime musical perfection.

Once Meli has been returned to the welcoming arms of Staci, she will be able to take her rightful place alongside her sisters Leilani (Hawaiian soprano), Pele (Kamaka tenor) and Waimea (Kanile'a low g tenor) on the honored wall of ukuleles. She will be played, loved and treasured. Instead, she currently languishes away in her prison - aka an Ameritage case in my spouse's closet.

It is a crime against humanity, an act of beastly cruelty, to have her locked up away from the hands of the player who loves her. By signing the petition below, you agree that she deserves her freedom. Help me release her from prison! Free Meli!

We, the undersigned, call upon Staci's spouse to set Meli free!
