Petition Tag - global warming

1. Planet in Peril

• The (climate change) scam grew up intensively after I ended the Gore’s Syndrome (Global warming).
• Polar shifts, great floods and ice Ages began 3 million years ago, but given the lack of scientific instruments (Humble space telescope etc.) people laid the blame on Gods! You may think that 3 million years is a lot of time, but in a cosmic sequence it is like the blink of an eye.
• The Earth's longest mountain range, the Mid-Atlantic Ridge bisects the Atlantic Ocean for 7,000 miles. The Mid-Atlantic ridge, fire ring, mid-Pacific volcanic chain, trenches, calderas and pockets of magma, became reality after the Great detachment and the Pangaea's split.
• The combined volcanic and sub-volcanic activities of the ridge, along with several hot spots, have produced the world's largest volcanic island, Iceland and lately another one just south of Iceland named Surtsey.
• That happens as of the Atlantic Ocean’s seabed inability to expand, since the North America Plate met the Pacific plate which possess greater density, because it is the direct extension of the Lithosphere, generating heavy earthquakes along the west coast (as a result of the 2 plates friction) and the under pressure Caribbean seabed, forcing the North American plate to a new Southern boundary in between the Cocos and Caribbean plates, crashing the Caribbean plate on Andes, creating another trench south of the Puerto Rico’s one and forcing the Cocos plate up on Nazca and Pacific, preparing the final detachment and near future planetary split, which will happen even without the help of the forthcoming polar shift.
• I documented, proved and established that Anthropogenic Global Warming does not exists in a strong, affirmative way and defined the physical origin of the excessive CO2 emissions in the atmosphere.
• CO2 buildups will not cause any warming (temperature’s increase) as Al Gore proclaims, in the contrary will lower our planet’s temperature and in extreme quantities will cause an Ice age.
• Although, the same source of the CO2 emissions (subvolcanic activity), mostly along the Mid-Atlantic ridge, Kamchatka peninsula, Aleutian circle, Mid-Pacific sea bed, Puerto Rico trench and others, heats up and thaw out the frozen clathrates at the seabed evaporating their Methane in to the atmosphere at an average high of 32 km, which in return after 35 years converts to CO2 and joins the existed CO2 levels at a lower altitude of 15 to 17 km (CO2 is heavier than Methane) increasing its levels accordingly.
• The same activity increases the seawater’s temperature while the currents routes move the seawater all over their path, conducing to the Oceans warming, which in return increases (alters) the atmospheric temperature to higher levels, up to 2.5 miles of altitude (at an ON-OFF pace) depending on the subvolcanic activity, which increases greatly lately.
• In that order, very often in mid-winter time, we witness the melt of icebergs and unusually high temperatures.
• At Initial Eocene Age case, we had an abnormal interference, which brought sudden, drastic climatic and geophysical changes.
• An abrupt and gigantic injection with Carbon was the result of synchronous, multi super-volcanic explosions, along the today's Pacific fire ring and Mid Pacific volcanic chain.
• Existed trenches and high center of weight as per the Continent’s huge mountains, exogalactic gravitational influence, Polar shift and violent rotation’s reversal, caused the Split and loss of the Pacific Continent, which existed where the Pacific Ocean locates today.
• In contrary to the climatic change, that took effect for a short period of time about 150,000 years, from which the first 10,000 years the Planet went through a pitch dark condition until absorbed the excess carbon and Nature took over again, geophysical change took effect in permanent base.
• The Planet’s shell after the split crashed and caused the Pangaea's rupture, resulting on the tectonic Plates and Continents creation.
• Their movement mostly towards the blanks, at various speeds and directions is permanent.
• The Carbon’s injection caused the Dinosaurs disappearance; Horses became the size of a dog; People Nanoismed, mostly within the Eastern Asia, Western America and in between, Nature became weak and dry.
• Since the industrial revolution at England 306 years ago, we have injected in our atmosphere 10% of the amount injected with the blink of an eye and caused the Thermal maximum.
• Our Moon created as of that loss egressing through as a giant fireball, leaving a permanent footprint over the South Pole on the ozone layer.
• The debris we carry today in permanent base by our Planet’s day side is as of the same event, we lost 1/3 of our Planet during the great detachment, (all Planets have to be clear of debris after they shape as one).

Gravity Tractors
• We can use Gravity tractors as false Poles, to stabilize the Planet's rotation, eliminate the wobbling, minimize the volcanic, sub-volcanic activity and move the magma from the Super Volcanic calderas and their deep hot spots, back to the Liquid core, eventually as a result of lack of wobbling the magma will move by itself back to the liquid core or the leftovers of it.
• The gravity tractors should rotate at the Planet's exact rotation speed and the same time applies (from a space distance) specific gravitational influence at a permanent position in order to eliminate or reduce the Planet's wobbling.
• We may have to alter the Satellites routes and restrict their presence on certain coordinates, an easy thing to do because we got not many satellites on top of the Poles today.
• In other words, the G.T. will be our standard false poles with purpose to eliminate the declination, stop the liquid core’s traveling, reinstall stability, minimize volcanic, sub-volcanic activity, reduce the Plates traveling and give our Planet the chance to heel as one.

2. People's Accord

The unprecedented threat to all inhabitants of planet earth, our shared home world, from human impact on our environment has made common action imperative for not only our survival but that of many other species, and to sustain earth as we know it. While 193 countries have signed on to the Paris accords, success requires all citizens of all countries, including the three non-signers (US, Nicaragua and Syria), to not only support the accord in any way they can including holding their countries to their commitment, but to also pull all stops as nothing short of maximum effort individually and in global cooperation can assure success.

It is vital for survival.

3. Carbon Tax Referendum for Alberta

Alberta Referendum and Initiative Democratic Process is calling on the Alberta government to hold a referendum on its carbon tax.

The tax, which came into effect on Jan. 1, 2017, is one of the controversial measures contained in the NDP's climate-change plan.

Albertans demand referendum on NDP's carbon tax, and think "the whole thing is just a cash grab"

Rachel Notley introduced a new massive carbon tax in Alberta, that will take effect on January 1st. I’ll walk you through some of it. It’s over a hundred pages.

They don’t even pretend that it’s about global warming. Yes, the law is called the “Climate Leadership Implementation Act”. But we submitted an access to information request, asking for any environmental studies showing the effect this tax will have on the world’s climate.

They have no such studies.

4. Tell City Council that you want a Zero Waste New Orleans

No Waste NOLA is asking the New Orleans City Council to develop a plan to become a Zero Waste community, because our trash is making us sick, and causing LOTS of other serious problems too. Support a cleaner, healthier community by telling the city council to pass a resolution committing to reducing waste in New Orleans!

In the U.S., on average, each person produces 1609 pounds of trash a year. So, with about 378,175 people in New Orleans, that means as we are sending 304,241 TONS of trash to our local landfills each year. Cigarette butts take up to 5 years to decompose. Glass bottles last for 1,000 years, - yet New Orleans has very limited glass recycling. Think about all that trash just piling up in our dumps!

As trash piles up and decomposes, it can cause air, ground and water pollution that causes a wide range of irritations and illness for people and animals - from asthma to allergies, and even cancer.

Trash is also a major contributor to climate change. As certain gases escape from decomposing trash, they surround our planet, stopping heat from escaping and preventing the earth from cooling down as it should. Over time, this can increase temperatures and change our climate.

Hotter weather means more pests as well - like mosquitoes and ticks - that can infect us and our pets with Lyme disease, Zika virus, and the West Nile virus. When it’s hot, cockroaches breed more often too – so as temperatures rise, so will our roach population! Expect more creepy crawlies on our streets and in our homes – yuck!

Increasing temperatures change weather patterns as well. When weather becomes erratic, we experience severe events like hurricanes, floods, and super storms.

For all these reasons, and so much more (link to fact sheet here) – we need to be better about reducing waste! Ask our City Council to protect our health, pets and planet by committing to a future with less trash and other waste!

5. Stop Trudeau's Carbon Tax & Use Taxes We Already Pay To Fund Cleaner Resources

Justin Trudeau took 10 vacations last year including the use of a private jet. He is passionate about climate change but instead of using the Canadian people's tax dollars to build the infrastructure needed to start using renewable energy and using fossil fuels more cleanly, he has been using the Canadian people's tax dollars to serve his own agenda and sending most of it overseas for other countries and governments to benefit from racking up a massive spending debt for us and our children to shoulder. Now he wants you to pay a carbon tax in addition to the taxes you are already paying. This tax will affect everything manufacturered and shipped - it will affect everything. Everything you buy; groceries, gas, heat, everything. So his plan is to punish us for the use of carbon.. not actually provide our country with what we need. For the Canadians who remember that the government's money is actually our money and that the government is supposed to serve us and not the other way around.. Justin Trudeau: stop vacationing and schmoozing and use our tax money to help us. Stop using our tax money like it is your own personal schmooze fund and get to work. No to carbon tax, no to more vacations, yes to building and improving energy infrastructure.

6. Support a Clean Power Plan and the Paris Agreement

We all know that Global Warming is a real and prominent threat. While we might not face the devastating affects if we ignore this issue our children will.

7. Speak Up Week of Action for those concerned with Global Warming

Join us from 8th-16th October in a Week of Action to celebrate the people, places and things we want to protect from climate change - and make sure MPs feel that love.

We’ll be seeing nature walks, tea parties, classic lobbies, community energy visits and all sorts of other events to start those key conversations about climate change. All this will either involve MPs or be showcased to them, so that politicians see, feel and hear how much their constituents care about what we could lose to climate change.

People all over the UK are organising events in their local areas. In Norton ST Philip & Rode we are collecting names on a petition we will send to our MP David Warburton.Supported by Christian Aid, CAFOD, Oxfam, WWF, Womens Institute, Climate Coalition and many others.

8. Enact a strong, rising carbon price

The climate crisis is urgent: July & August were the hottest months ever, one third of the Great Barrier Reef has died, and Arctic ice is melting more quickly than anyone thought possible. If that isn’t dire enough, experts report the Earth is now hotter than it has been at anytime in the past 115,000 years.

How have our politicians responded?

Canada’s targets for cutting carbon emissions are woefully inadequate. Climate Action Tracker, which analyzes whether nations will meet the goal of holding warming below 2 degrees Celsius, ranks Canada below its major trading partners (USA, China, Mexico) as well as lesser-known nations like Bhutan, Ethiopia, and Kazakhstan.

We must do better. We'll have an opportunity to do so this Fall, when a First Ministers’ Meeting will be held to hash out the details of a national carbon price.*

Before that meeting, send the Premiers a message. Show them you care about climate change. Tell them you want national carbon pricing that: (1) begins at $30 per tonne of carbon pollution; and (2) increases by at least $10 per tonne annually.

If enacted immediately, a national carbon price like the one described would increase to $100 by 2024. It's estimated we'll need to reach (and probably exceed) this price point to trigger the emission reductions necessary to curb the worst effects of climate change.

If self-preservation isn't reason enough to act, consider the benefits we can reap by enacting an ambitious carbon price. By speeding the transition to renewable energy, Canada can save $107.6 billion in annual health costs and see the creation of 293,000 construction and 463,000 full-time operation jobs.

But to realize these advantages, we must act NOW.

Canada's share of clean tech has declined since 2008, and our global ranking has fallen from 14th to 19th. In the meantime, nations like China have embraced green tech, and are well-positioned to capitalize on the global market for renewable energy options.

Since when has Canada waited for other nations to take the lead? Tell the Premiers you want Canada to be at the forefront of the fight against climate change. It's good for the planet, it's good for us, and it's good for the economy. All we need is the courage to act. Let's do it.
* * *
*Carbon pricing is considered by many the “best first step” to combat global warming. Done right, it can create business opportunities, stimulate the economy, and protect low-income households.

9. Climate Change Quit Gambling with Our Future Lets Make a Better World

Dear People out there,

It seems that there is still much debate regarding Climate Change. Surely it is not difficult to see how Humanity is disrupting Natures intricate systems.
Lowering emissions will help but not quickly enough.
In July I participated in a course to learn about organic soil improvement and was very pleased to learn that there does exist a process that has shown itself as an effective way to drastically lower atmospheric CO2 levels.
Soil microbiologists have enough understanding of the soil to be able to inoculate the soil with many beneficial organisms that will actually take CO2 out of the atmosphere. 1% increase on 500 acre property removes 17,000 tonnes of carbon from the atmosphere. 1.6 % increase of carbon in the worlds agricultural soil will bring our CO2 down to 300 ppm.

There are also added benefits - 1% increase in humus means that soil can hold an added 170,000 L of water per hectare and combines with nutrients making them available for plants. This has the added advantage of healthy soil> healthy plants>healthy animals> healthy people.
If we act now this can be done quickly enough to possibly stabilize world climate. With the added benefits - healthy soil > healthy plants > healthy animals > healthy people
. Our Demands to Government;
1. Place climate change at a no.1 priority for action.
All areas of Government will be effected by climate change Government needs to be aware of what could happen and ready to act. New diseases, threats to infrastructure, threats to ecosystems and agriculture from unstable seasons, extreme weather events. We will be effected in so many ways. There are many issues that if addressed now can only improve our country’s wealth and our world.
2. Educate and aid farmers to implement the practice of organic farming and soil improvement.
3. Reward them for the carbon that they successfully combine into the soil.
4. Use advertising to motivate and show us how our little bit can help. We have all seen the positive effects of well directed advertising.
5. Insist Councils incorporate composting of all organic waste into their systems.
6. Provide us the people with strategies that we can use to prepare for posible problems and help play our part in the solution.

Thank you
Suzanne

10. Stop Burning and deforestation in Nan, Thailand

In many places around the world, burning is used for a quick and easy way to prepare farm lands for planting or dispose of farming waste. Since large companies like CP and Monsanto found their way to the Nan Province of Thailand, the destruction of the forest and nature in this area in particular over the last 10 years have been devastating.

Every year hundreds of acres of forest are destroyed by setting fire to it to grow the ever increasing hunger for corn. Consequently all these fields and crop waste are set on fire at every harvest. And the burning is not just limited to the farm fields, but it is common practice and even tradition to burn anything around you as way to “clean the mess”.

As the burning was limited to two or three months in the past, the blue haze is now present for most of the year. The secondary effects of deforestation and burning are rapidly starting to show as well. Increase in asthma cases, flooding, drought, heat, mudslides, etc.

There is no visible action from (local) government accept a few posters along the road. Actually a lot of the burning and farming is done within the National Parks of Nan, often right next to a checkpoint or park office. Most of the road shoulders which are government property are set on fire as well instead of cutting them. So government and law enforcement must be aware of what is happening but it seems they are not trying to actively do anything about the problem.

As I love Nan, the beautiful scenery and the amazing people that live here, it hurts me to see the destruction that is happening. I hope this petition will help to start a change for the better before it will be too late. On behave of all citizens of Nan and those affected, I Thank you for your help!

11. Step to a better world

Global Warming, Oil Wars, Hunger and Air Pollution are among our biggest challenges in the 21st century. These challenges have roots in the main challenge of today, i.e. ENERGY.

International Energy Agency, IEA "2011 Key World Energy Statistics" shows that earth's deposit of peat, coal, oil and gas are on fire and our transport system has a main role in this disaster. 27 million ton of our fossil fuels deposit burns every day and converts into 11000 Billion Cubic Feet of invisible CO2, caused Global Warming and Climate Change. 27 million ton of raw material of our industries burns every day!!. We need to take an action urgently before it is too late.

Also we worsen Hunger by burning 100+ million ton of food per year after converting to biofuels.

We need a clean transport system suitable for 21st century. We still use the dirty 18th century combustion engines technology for our transportation while there is an economic, safe, funny and clean technology available for transportation, here @: http://selkebozorgan.blogspot.com/p/blog-page.html.

Sign this petition in order to stop burning our wealth and keep our tinny planet rich, safe and clean.

12. Transition to Renewable Energy by 2030

Where as Dr. Mark Jacobson of Stanford University and Dr. Mark Delucchi of the University of California at Davis have conducted several studies now reported in the Nov 2009 issue of Scientific American, the March 2011 issue of Energy Policy and now in the Feb 2013 issue of Energy Policy on powering the world, the United States and the State of New York 100% with renewable energy, with existing technology, without fossil fuel or nuclear power by 2030.

The US Department of Energy should conduct a feasibility study and implement such a plan in the US, with all deliberate speed to save the country and the planet from global warming and further environmental destruction from the impact of fossil fuel and nuclear power.

13. Americans against global warming from palm oil

We as Americans are directly causing global warming and animal cruelty everytime we buy something that contains palm oil. This has to stop! Palm oil is used in everything from our breakfast cereals and chocolates to our cosmetics and soon to come, in the gas we use to drive our cars!

Palm oil is also the biggest cause of global warming as forests are cut down to plant more plantations and more than 5 million acres of forests are under the chain saw in South America, Africa and Asia.

We are already starting to see the effects of global warming on American lives. This must be stopped at our borders.

14. No Carbon Tax

Whereas the current government went to an election promising not to impose a carbon tax. And, using the current numbers in Parliament as an excuse to renege on that promise, after several days of obfuscation.

Whereas the government is making all sorts of reasons, with changes in this almost daily to explain the reasoning for the tax.

Whereas the government has resorted to name calling and question-begging epithets to denigrate ordinary Australians opposed to the carbon tax.

The government does not have the mandate to set this tax. It doesn't have the moral ground, as they claim, either.

A tax this big should be referred to the people, after all the Howard government did it for GST.

And, finally quoting dubious authorities to justify a tax that will burden the whole of Australia for very little effect on the environment. Hey, Tim Flannery said that if the whole world stopped emissions, it would take 1000 years to make 1 degree of difference.

The tax is based on a lie and should not proceed.

15. SAVE OUR PLANET

Don't say you will die one day. Everyone will DIE.
The Thing is that The next generation and every generation that comes will be living worse than we do.

So do something, Whatever you can. Big or small. Everything will help.

16. One Day Off

It is widely recognised that aviation has an undesired impact on air quality, wildlife, the watercycle, weather systems, soil quality and human health.

UK airspace is recognised by the UK's Civil Aviation Authority as some of the most congested airspace in the world.

Despite this, the UK government expects UK air traffic to treble by 2030.

This petition asks for the weekly 24 hour no flight period.

We believe that the regrettable economic impact is by far offset by the potential benefit to the environment and people. For example, it is predicted that we will save at least 102, 740 metric tonnes of CO2 every week (5,342,480 tonnes a year). (Independent.co.uk archives-06/05/08 Cahal Milmo)

Having One Day Off is a simple, appreciable and easily monitored method of curbing air traffic. It is also a clear and considerate commitment from industry to the people of the UK, for whom there is a strong desire to support the well-being of the planet.

We suggest Tuesdays.

17. BP - Save Our Oceans!

On April 20th, 2010, an oil rig called the Deepwater Horizon exploded in the waters off of Lousiana, killing 11 people and injuring 17 others. Oil seeped into our oceans, and has yet to come to an end.

Though BP placed a cap on the well, it is not capturing all of the oil that is flowing. 597 birds to date have been found dead due to the oil spill and the numbers are rising. Even dolphins, sharks, fish, and turtles are suffering from this tragic event.

This petition is meant to tell BP that they are held responsible for what has happened and no matter where the fault lies, it happened on their watch.

We are already facing enough of a crisis with global warming and this has added to it. Please BP, take care of the problem, stop the flow of oil, then help our oceans, our marine life, the gulf, and EVERYONE impacted to recover.

18. Cure Phuket's Plastic Addiction

Phuket is an island in the Andaman sea, its is a small island and much of its income is dependent on tourists flocking to Phuket because of its pristine beaches and natural beauty, not to mention its fantastic nightlife.

But with Phuket's current plastic addiction every day tonnes of plastic waste is being sent Phukets landfill and the incinerator at its maximum the problem is only getting worse with each passing day.

It is up to Phuket citizens and students to join together and help reduce plastic consumption in Phuket.

19. President Obama, You And Your Family Should Stop Eating Animal Flesh

Raising animals for food is one of the largest sources of carbon dioxide and the single largest source of both methane and nitrous oxide emissions. Removing animal flesh from the food chain may be the only realistic, viable, manageable, enforceable, and effective government solution needed to slow global warming, and to ultimately play the largest role in stopping it.

The human race cannot run away from or escape the consequences of global warming!!

20. Ohio Climate Change Petition

Climate change is a moral, ecological, and national priority.

Our religious traditions may disagree on some issues, but we are united in our concern for environmental stewardship, and our denominational communities have called for swift action on climate change.

We, the undersigned, call on Ohio’s Senators and Representatives to pass effective climate and energy efficiency legislation this year.

21. We The People Commission the Greening of America ~ Now!

We must utilize logic as it concerns the use of genetically~modified organisms. Limits must be defined in terms considering public health, rather than financial considerations. We now have clean technology available to replace toxic plastics, agricultural poisons, and fuels; even jet fuel.

Governmental administration is called for to subsidize proper alternatives to environmentally~destructive practices. Please limit incentives to those corporations and individuals who are willing to "go green" in every way possible. Require that all investments [s.a. mutual funds] be limited to truly ecological sustainable projects, businesses, cooperatives, and corporations.

Empower and morally support "bioneers" who wish to implement new approaches and create jobs. Projected time~lines for transition to sustainable technologies would take too long and compromise of quality is wrong.

22. Obama, Help Solve Global Warming

We know that global warming threatens our way of life. According to scientists the window of opportunity to avoid the worst effects of global warming is quickly closing. The time for action is now.

To stop the worst effects of global warming, we need to reduce global warming pollution at least 25-40% below 1990 levels by 2020.

As of now, our biggest bill to date was A.C.E.S (American Clean Energy and Security Act), but that has been put on the back-burner with Senator Kerry and Senator Boxer's bill, Clean Energy Jobs and American Power Act, taking the lead. With both these bills being highly contested, it is nevertheless necessary for our country to lead the way in solving this crisis.

23. Bike4Peace

Global climate change, a threat to human survival, is primarily caused by automotive exhaust.

Wars are being fought with devastating effect over the control of petroleum resources mostly consumed by automobiles.

Cars kill hundreds of thousands through accidents and pollution of air, water, and soil. They are also primary components of noise and light pollution. Driving a car is particularly damaging to the health of the driver, but impacts everyone around negatively.

Cars are an unnecessary expense, costing the average driver over half of their income. More than half the cost of driving is subsidized through government maintenance of infrastructure and cleanup. Not only do cars drive you to work, they drive up taxes.

24. Help Schools Go Green

To educate students, schools use paper and electricity extensively. Paper is used for worksheets, written exercises, textbooks, novels, and other products that are made from trees, which supply the planet oxygen and help reduce the effects of global warming.

By consuming the carbon emissions that pollute our atmosphere and alarmingly intensify the greenhouse effect, trees help cool the planet, but by cutting down more and more of them, we are escalating the effects of global warming and causing the polar ice caps to melt from the heat of the intensified greenhouse effect.

By using electricity extensively in schools, we are burning coal and releasing more and more carbon emissions into the atmosphere and strengthening the greenhouse effect even more. As this causes the melting of polar ice caps, we can already see what happens when it continues. As ice breaks up and melts in the warmer waters, polar bears and stranded in the water and will eventually drown.

Shorelines are advancing from the excess water from melted glaciers added into the ocean, and beaches are shrinking rapidly. If we don't do anything before its too late, we may make entire coastlines disappear from the swelling sea levels and entire species become extinct from lack of habitats.

25. Representative Mike McIntyre needs to act on global warming

In October 2007, Representative Mike McIntyre pledged to address climate change. Nearly two years later, he has done absolutely nothing to address the issue.

Enough Talk, Let's See Some Action! North Carolina residents and UNCW ECO are holding Representative Mike McIntyre accountable and calling for immediate climate action.

* WATCH the video and forward it to every North Carolina resident you know! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZL9TU4M6l0

* CALL Rep. McIntyre at (202) 225-2731. Demand that he take global warming seriously. There is a sample script for calling, below.

* WRITE President Obama, and ask him to rejoin the international community by signing a global climate change treaty. The opportunity to pass a global treaty will arise at the December 2009 UN Climate Negotiations in Copenhagen, and President Obama must be a leader on climate change issues. https://secure3.convio.net/gpeace/site/Advocacy?cmd=display&page=UserAction&id=472

Our elected officials work for us! Make your voice heard. Demand science-based reductions on global warming pollution.

For the sake of the health and livelihood of future generations, demand science-based climate action now!

26. Meat Free Monday In Hong Kong

(English translation at bottom)

27. Meat Free Friday in Indonesia

Teks Bahasa Indonesia ada di bawah :

English :

Indonesia trails only the United States and China in greenhouse gas emissions! A study released by the World Bank and the British government -http://www.worldbank.org/indonesia - shows that Indonesia’s high ranking is primarily due to its high deforestation rate -- about 85 percent (2,563 million tons of carbon dioxide equivalent [MtCO2e]) of its emissions (3,014 MtCO2e) result from fires and forest clearing. Emissions from energy, agriculture and waste amount to only 451 MtCO2e - http://news.mongabay.com/2007/0326-indonesia.html.

Indonesia is home to one of the most rich and biological diverse environment on the planet. It has the world’s highest marine diversity and second largest area of forest after the Amazon Basin. However, due to the impact that meat is having on the environment, not only is our nation in peril but our precious plant is also experiencing the effects of animal agriculture too. Thus it is critical that we reduce our consumption of this carbon intensive product as an effective solution to the climate change crisis. This petition calls for the government of Indonesia to take immediate action by adopting “Meat Free Friday” for every Friday, which is also a holy Moslem day and promote the many health and environmental benefits of the pure vegetarian (vegan) lifestyle to the general public.

ENDING WORLD HUNGER
If you want to stop 1 billion people from going hungry each day; If you want to stop the needless deaths taking place every 5 seconds due to starvation then a vegan lifestyle is the solution to solve these dyer diet driven situations due to the inefficient use of resources directed towards animal agriculture. Grain currently fed to livestock is enough to feed 2 billion people. According to a recent report by Compassion in World Farming, "crops that could be used to feed the hungry are instead being used to fatten animals raised for food." It takes up to 16 pounds of grain to produce just 1 pound of edible animal flesh.

We call on everyone’s support in helping to urge the government of Indonesia and its citizens to adopt and promote a “Meat Free Friday”.

So please sign this petition and forward it to you friends and family.

If you want to stop 1 billion people from going hungry at night each day; If you want to stop the needless deaths taking place every 5 seconds due to starvation then a vegan lifestyle is the solution to solve these dyer diet driven situations due to the inefficient use of resources directed towards animal agriculture. Grain currently fed to livestock is enough to feed 2 billion people. According to a recent report by Compassion in World Framing, "crops that could be used to feed the hungry are instead being used to fatten animals raised for food." It takes up to 16 pounds of grain to produce just 1 pound of edible animal flesh.

We call on everyone’s support in helping to urge the government of Indonesia and its citizens to adopt and promote a “Meat Free Friday”.

So please sign this petition and forward it to you friends and family.

Dr.James Hansen – Ahli Iklim Terkenal NASA

http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3736884,00.html

29. Meat Free Mondays in European Union Countries & the United Kingdom (UK)

The impact of livestock on human health, the environment, world grain and water security and climate change has never been more clear.

With the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change stressing our planetary peril with ever increasing urgency, the recognition of the significant role of factory farming in the genesis of swine flu, and new research by the Global Humanitarian Forum (GHF) stating that 315,000 people per year die as a result of climate change (with another 325 million affected), it is time to let our leaders know that we are ready to do anything we can to alleviate these crises and help the world.

By pledging to keep Mondays Meat-free, we can make a sure start. Join Sir Paul, Mary and Stella McCartney as they too are promoting Meat Free Monday to encourage people to avoid meat once a week. Check out Sir Paul's message here: http://www.supportmfm.org/

END WORLD HUNGER

Let's show the UK government and the European Union that we are ready and willing to act, and support the Earth saving and humanitarian concept of Meat-free Mondays.

This petition will be forwarded to Gordon Brown and to influential members of DEFRA (Department for Environment, Food, and Rural Affairs) in the UK plus the President of the European Parliament, the President of the European Commission, the Directorate-General for the Environment (of the European Commission) and the Directorate-General for Health and Consumer Protection (of the European Commission).

The Meat Free Mondays petition in the European Union and the United Kingdom (UK) asking UK & Gordon Brown, DEFRA as well as the President of the European Parliament, the President of the European Commission, the Directorate-General for the Environment (of the European Commission) and the Directorate-General for Health and Consumer Protection (of the European Commission) to support Meat-free Mondays was written by Concerned_Citizen and is hosted free of charge at GoPetition.

30. Meat free Monday Canada

Canada is the #4 biggest polluter on earth, yet has a relatively small population. Canada reputation for being a dinosaur in the Climate Crisis must change ASAP.

This petition calls for Canadian officials to take immediate action by adopting “Meat Free Mondays” and promoting the many health and environmental benefits of the pure vegetarian (vegan) lifestyle to the general public

LIVESTOCK’S ROLE IN GLOBAL WARMING IS HUGE

According to a 2006 report by the Food and Agriculture Organization of The United Nations (FAO), entitled “Livestock's Long Shadow”: The FAO report found that livestock production causes 18 percent of all greenhouse gas emissions, including nine percent of all carbon dioxide emissions, 37 percent of methane and 65 percent of nitrous oxide which is 296 times more potent than CO2 as a global warming gas. According to Dr. Kirk Smith, a member of the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and professor at University of California-Berkeley, methane is 100 times more potent than CO2 within 5 years of being emitted.

Scientists across the globe have recognized that climate change is happening so fast, human civilization is under threat if we don’t do something within the next few years to significantly reverse the trend of global warming. At the same time, researchers have also realized that although CO2 is the most prevalent gas by weight, even if we were to achieve a zero carbon economy today, the earth will continue to warm hundreds if not thousands of years.

For this reason, if we want to preserve the planet for our children’s generation, we need to reduce those gases and aerosols causing the greatest effect on global warming in the short term, thus giving us time to develop CO2 reduction technologies that can be commercially deployed.

MEAT REDUCTION AROUND THE GLOBE

Ghent, Belgium has shown leadership and recognized the importance of promoting vegetarianism as a solution to addressing climate change and reducing its carbon footprint by ask its citizens to go meatless one day a week.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/8046970.stm

Other countries and institutions are also recognizing the need to promote pure vegetarianism (veganism). The United Kingdom’s National Health Service (NHS) will be cutting meat (and dairy) from the menus of hospitals across the UK in an effort to cut costs and carbon. Its one part of NHS hospitals strategy to reduce carbon emissions throughout the hospital system.

Following Paul McCartney's Meat Free Monday mission in the UK, Israeli restaurants are also participating in going veggie for at least one day a week.
