The only reason interest in making a movie came to fruition was the excellent storytelling and solid character handling of the book.
Now, they've done away with the original title Hellblazer to make way for Constantine. It's the watered down, politically correct, PG version of the moody, engaging, downright scary incarnation that we all grew to appreciate so dearly. Who are the stewards of this beloved bastard of a character?
If Spiderman, Wolverine, X-Men, Superman, and Batman can all be featured in multiple titles every month why can't Hellblazer coexist with Contantine?

I've read some of justice league Dark and I'm not convinced that the upcoming "Constantine" will do the Real [original] Character any justice. Retconning him back into the land of 'Capes & Masks' steals that validity & real-world grittiness from him. When I read His original appearances in Swamp Thing & Hellblazer I often would be walking home late at night eagerly anticipating to read an HB issue, turn a corner & be startled by someone I bump into and instantly wonder if maybe it's some supernatural beasty from out of the pages of Hellblazer. It was Fantastic supernatural stories set in a world that was close enough to our own that frightened and exhilarated & stuck with me. When I would read HB I always wondered is he really doing real magic or is it an elaborate con and that's what always made it mysterious, this NEW 52 character is more akin to a superhero with definite tangible powers. Now I don't feel that air of mystery & suspense I did with Hellblazer. *Mark-My-Words* new52 Constantine will wither, and with Hellblazer canceled we'll lose a great solid piece of Comicdom to mediocrity or worse.
