Alimony is deducted but why not child support, why is a child different then a adult? the only difference is if you fail to pay because you cannot keep up with your own life you goto jail, lose your job or worse your child in the situation. Where is the justice for this? there is no accountability for where money is going for your child. Something needs to stop, more and more fathers and mothers are hurting because of this. It should be a 50/50 right off the bat depending on your visitation, if it is different then talk about changing to more. There is no incentive to a father or mother to better themselves and move on with there life when forced into involuntary financial slavery

We need to support fair and responsibile parenting! NCP are being taxed for money that they pay, not earn. IF the government really cared about the children, they would make child support a pre-tax option. NCP should only pay taxes for what they actually earn.

There are several options to give NCP an incentive to continue to pay for support that is not associated with cluttering the jails. Either give them the ability to claim a dependent credit or only tax income after child support is abducted!!

His ex does not work by choice. She collects food stamps and Mainecare. Her house is much nicer than ours. She has 2 trucks. We have 1 vehicle. She just bought a horse. She gets the EIC for all of the children, despite not having them more than 6 months of the year. And since my husband is a contractor, he is temporarily laid off every year for about 1 month. So DHHS takes a little over $1,000 out of our tax refund every year to give to his ex. I have a child that I claim, and yes, I work. But they don't care about that.

These laws needs to change and become more realistic. Oh and I forgot to add my ex wife also lives in government housing and almost pays nothing for rent. I pray these laws change. I don't mind paying for my kids but I am left with nothing in the end. Its difficult to get by in expensive San Diego California.

The non custodial parent is paying taxes on money for the custodial parent.
